Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Commissioning Agent to lead commissioning efforts on large-scale building projects in the United States. You will serve as the primary liaison between the client and HDR, directing commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to budgets, and coordinating with contractors on plans, tests and documentation.

Ideal candidates possess 8+ years in mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines, a PE license (or equivalent), and CxA certification.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience across mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines
  • Experience with MEP systems, HVAC controls, and the T&B process
  • Willingness to travel to site locations as needed
  • Licensed PE or field technician with strong design/build understanding

Responsibilities

  • Be the main client HDR contact and manage all commissioning activities on the project
  • Adhere to budgeted man-hours and execute commissioning services
  • Coordinate with the client and assist the contractors in scheduling commissioning activities: plans, pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, training plans, O&M, record document and shop drawing reviews
  • Perform other duties as needed

In the role of Senior Commissioning Agent, we'll count on you to:

  • Be the main contact between the client and HDR and direct and manage all Commissioning activities on the project
  • Adhere to budgeted man-hours and execute commissioning services
  • Coordinate with the client and assist the contractors in scheduling the commissioning activities: plans, pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, training plans, O&M, record document and shop drawing reviews and opposed season testing
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing bord for the location of the position offered
  • CxA Certification or equivalent
  • Strong Controls Background

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines
  • Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs
  • Must be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process, etc
  • Must have good computer skills and effective typing skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of the design & construction services
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operations
  • Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
