Job summary

Protea Property Management, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Manager to oversee properties across its San Diego portfolio from its La Jolla base.

This leadership role covers financial performance, tenant relations, lease administration, vendor management and capital projects, with a strong emphasis on operational excellence. You will work closely with the Asset Manager, maintain strong relationships with ownership, tenants and vendors, and drive property performance while

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple commercial properties and budgets.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgets, forecasts and reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Proven negotiation and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Attention to detail and quality of property standards.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive mindset with ownership responsibility.
• Ability to build relationships with tenants, owners and vendors.
• Experience coordinating capital projects and vendor contracts.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment; adaptable to priorities.
• Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day commercial property management in line with owners and management agreements.
• Manage all aspects of operations including financial performance, tenant relations and vendor oversight.
• Develop relationships with tenants, owners, and stakeholders; act as a professional ambassador.
• Prepare and present budgets, forecasts and property recommendations to ownership.
• Oversee marketing, events and activities that boost property performance.
• Lead vendor contracts and service agreements to ensure high standards and curb appeal.
• Manage capital expenditure projects and tenant improvements with budget discipline.
• Prioritize tasks across properties while maintaining attention to detail and service.
• Negotiate contracts and resolve issues with tenants, vendors and stakeholders.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement strategies for long‑term value.
