Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent with a Commercial background for the Ft Lauderdale, FL area. The role entails directing daily field personnel, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and quality on assigned projects.

The candidate will work with a full team on large jobs and with smaller teams on smaller projects. Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors, managing permits and inspections, and communicating progress to the Project Manager, while

Qualifications

• 10-year commercial construction field supervision experience.
• Experience with concrete, steel and PEMB construction.
• Knowledge of site development and underground infrastructure.
• Supervisory experience and people skills.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Current training: Competent Person in Trenching, Scaffolds, Rigging, Confined Space, Fall Protection.
• OSHA 10-hour, First Aid/CPR, SWPPP Inspector, silica, Risk Management and Accident training.
• History of completing multi-million-dollar projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide field supervision and oversee safety, schedule and quality control.
• Monitor site conditions for safety, cleanliness and proper policy administration.
• Plan, schedule, inspect and supervise work at the site.
• Develop short-term schedules with resources and equipment.
• Coordinate subcontractors and lead meetings; manage permits and inspections.
• Communicate progress and changes to the Project Manager.
• Maintain field documents, daily reports and timekeeping.
• Assist in hiring, update As-Built drawings and manage site operations.
