Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. in Northwest Florida seeks a Project Executive to oversee project management and ensure project profitability across the Northwest Florida region, including municipal, k-12, and public safety projects.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, coordinate with Business Development, review contracts, and uphold safety while delivering high-quality commercial construction outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years of progressive experience in commercial construction, municipal, k-12, and public safety projects.
• Advanced understanding of construction processes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, and Design-Build delivery methods.
• Ability to interpret civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings and contract documents.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver results.
• Strategic thinking for planning 3-5 year project pipelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• High energy, integrity, and commitment to exceptional client service.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong client relations with municipal, k-12, and public safety clients.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction to multiple project teams on commercial projects.
• Develop team members through training, mentoring, and coaching.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing to identify and secure new commercial opportunities.
• Participate in pursuits, client development, and bid strategies for commercial construction.
• Review and negotiate contract documents to ensure understanding of scope and requirements.
• Coordinate interests of Wharton-Smith, client, and third-party stakeholders.
• Promote collaboration, communication, and accountability across project teams.
• Supervise, coordinate, and review work of project personnel for quality and compliance.
• Provide oversight of project financial performance including cost tracking, forecasting, and profitability.
• Champion safety practices across all projects.
