Solid Rock Recruiting- The #1 Commercial Painting Recruiter* in the USA in Raleigh seeks a Paint Estimator for a long-established commercial painting contractor. This hands-on role leads takeoffs, bids, and collaboration with owners and project managers.

You will use OST to produce accurate estimates for warehouses, hotels, and mid-size private projects, mentor junior estimators, and help shape the estimating team.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of commercial painting estimating experience.
• Proficient with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and commercial paint scopes.
• Ability to estimate projects ranging from small commercial work to multi-million-dollar jobs.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to speak directly with GCs and clients.
• Ability to produce complete, accurate takeoffs independently.
• Leadership-oriented mindset and interest in contributing to a high-performing estimating team.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed, accurate takeoffs using OST and prepare professional proposals.
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents; request clarifications from general contractors and project managers as needed.
• Submit bids, follow up with clients, and communicate effectively throughout the bidding process.
• Manage multiple estimates at once and maintain organized tracking through internal tools.
• Collaborate with the owner and team regarding cost structures, production assumptions, and bid strategy.
• Provide guidance to junior estimators; the ability to train and mentor is a strong plus.
• Participate in occasional working sessions or demonstrations of estimating capability.
