Job summary
BAE Systems in Portsmouth is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to shape and deliver commercial strategy across high-value underwater defence programmes. You will lead a specialist team, negotiate contracts and ensure alignment with technical delivery and regulatory requirements.
The role is hybrid in Portsmouth, GG13, and limited to permanent or fixed-term employees of BAE Systems. Internal candidates are encouraged to discuss opportunities with their line manager.
Qualifications
- Senior commercial or contracts management experience in defence or aerospace
- Strong understanding of pricing strategies, cost drivers and programme financials
- Experience translating customer requirements into commercial solutions
- Proven success negotiating high-value contracts and through-life support
- Flexible and proactive in fast-paced, complex environments
Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of commercial strategies across complex underwater defence programmes
- Guide bids and contracts with pricing models, cost structures and risk allocations
- Collaborate with engineering, programme, legal and finance teams for aligned decisions
- Oversee contract negotiations and complex terms such as incentives and through-life support
- Drive governance, risk management and export control compliance
