Job summary

MAM Gruppe in Dallas, Texas seeks a senior commercial professional to lead the full spectrum of quantity surveying on large capital projects. You will own valuation, negotiation and resolution of change orders and claims across major subcontracts, driving cost control and risk management from project outset through closeout.

You will interact with corporate decision-makers and project teams to validate cost-to-complete estimates, provide budget performance insights and forecast-at-completion

Qualifications

  • At least 15+ years of commercial, contract administration or quantity surveying experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years in construction or EPC environments.
  • Track record negotiating with corporate decision-makers.

Job description

This role covers the full commercial function on some of the largest capital projects in the country, from final settlement negotiations to the commercial approach to risk and cost across the full project lifecycle. It involves direct engagement with corporate decision-makers as well as project teams.

Projects are delivered for clients in highly regulated, mission-critical industries, bringing significant risk exposure, tight margins and a fast pace.

The role:

Your quantity surveying background sits at the centre of this role. You'll lead the valuation, negotiation and resolution of change orders and claims across major subcontracts, drawing on strong measurement and cost analysis skills. You'll validate monthly cost-to-complete estimates, prepare budget performance and forecast-at-completion reports, and provide early-warning trend analysis based on detailed cost interrogation.

What you'll need:
  • 15+ years of commercial, contract administration or quantity surveying experience, including 10+ years in construction or EPC environments.
  • Experience providing commercial and budgetary oversight on projects valued at $200 million or above.
  • A track record of negotiating directly with corporate decision-makers.
  • Strong proficiency with SAP or a similar financial reporting system.
  • Proficiency with Primavera, MS Project or similar project management software.
  • Strong background in contract administration and change management.
