GPAC invites applications for a senior Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our Washington, DC office. The role involves handling complex commercial disputes from inception through trial, including serving as first chair.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of litigation experience in a law firm, a strong background in commercial real estate and construction disputes, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with partners.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to and in good standing with the D.C. Bar or eligible to waive in.
• Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
• Strong background in commercial litigation; experience with commercial real estate and construction disputes preferred.
• Significant deposition and large-case litigation experience.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of commercial litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and trial
• Serve as first chair in trials and hearings
• Draft and argue motions, briefs, and written discovery
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Manage litigation workflow, deadlines, filings, and multiple workstreams across matters
• Advise clients on commercial disputes, with a focus on commercial real estate and construction-related matters
