Job summary

The Harbor Bank of Maryland is seeking a VP/Commercial Lending Officer in Baltimore, MD to lead commercial lending activities, manage loan portfolios, and foster strong client relationships at the bank. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in commercial lending or credit analysis within a financial institution.
• Proven track record of structuring, negotiating, and closing commercial loans in compliance with regulatory policies.
• Experience in managing a commercial loan portfolio with focus on asset quality and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Interviews loan applicants and analyzes financial data to determine general creditworthiness.
• Underwrites loans and negotiates terms, including collateral requirements.
• Collects and analyzes information reflecting current creditworthiness and loan merits.
• Monitors loan repayments and takes action to collect past-due accounts.
• Develops new business by contacting prospects and cross-selling bank services.
• Participates on the loan committee and provides assessments.
• Engages in community affairs to raise the bank’s visibility and opportunities.
• Undertakes special projects in the lending department as assigned by Senior Lender.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and required training.
