Job summary

Calhoun Construction is seeking a dynamic Estimator to join our Louisville, KY estimating team. The ideal candidate will review and prepare high-quality proposals, perform quantity take-offs, and identify new bid opportunities while analyzing plans and specifications.

Requirements include 4–6 years of commercial construction estimating experience, a related bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook. On-Screen Takeoff knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator.
• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and years of experience.
• Experience with conceptual and schematic design budgeting.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook; On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Excellent math skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, create, and submit high-quality estimates with detailed proposals.
• Prepare high-level quantity and manpower take-offs.
• Prospect and procure new opportunities for bid.
• Analyze plans and documents to prepare bid estimates for projects.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and coordination meetings.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and peers.
