Job summary

Framework Construction Recruiting is seeking an Estimator to join our preconstruction team in Peabody, MA. This hands-on role collaborates with senior estimators and Operations on ground-up, fit-out, and renovation projects, building skills for larger pursuits.

You will prepare takeoffs, review docs, solicit subcontractor pricing, and help develop budgets and GMPs, ensuring bids meet deadlines while maintaining organized files.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3–7 years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and current construction technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial construction projects from concept through final bid.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope, risks, and pricing considerations.
• Solicit, evaluate, and qualify subcontractor and vendor pricing for inclusion in estimates and proposals.
• Assist in developing conceptual budgets, GMPs, and detailed bid packages.
• Track material, labor, and equipment costs to keep pricing current with market conditions.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations to ensure a smooth handoff from preconstruction to execution.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and owner or architect meetings as needed.
• Maintain organized estimate files, historical cost data, and bid documentation.
• Support value engineering efforts and constructability reviews.
• Help ensure all bid deadlines and submission requirements are met.
