Job summary

AlphaX in Detroit seeks an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to lead complex electrical construction projects from planning through turnover. You will oversee budgets, schedules, field teams, and client relationships on self-performing commercial work.

Responsibilities include coordinating teams, reviewing contracts and drawings, managing change orders, and ensuring safety and quality. Opportunities for leadership and career growth exist within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
• Previous experience with a self-performing commercial electrical contractor is required.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, procurement, and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical construction projects from budgeting and planning through installation, commissioning, and final turnover.
• Develop project schedules, procurement plans, staffing requirements, and cost forecasts.
• Coordinate superintendents, foremen, electricians, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors.
• Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to confirm project requirements and conflicts.
• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, material procurement, billing, and documentation.
• Monitor job costs, labor productivity, cash flow, and budget variances; implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, BIM/VDC, and field teams to align design and construction.
• Resolve design conflicts and scheduling issues before they affect delivery.
• Lead project meetings and communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, workmanship standards, and safety procedures.
