Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Management, the Senior Commercial Data Analyst will join the Veeva Compass Prescriber team to support data analytics and operations necessary to provide high-quality delivery of Compass Prescriber data. The role involves monitoring, analyzing, and synthesizing prescription data, as well as designing processes for internal & customer success.

This role is critical for the upcoming product launch of Compass Prescriber and Compass National, providing HCP-level brand volume and sales projections, including sub-national and national data. Prior experience with similar data sources for commercial use cases such as targeting, field planning, and incentive compensation is required.

You will collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Analysts, and Development teams to ensure quality data build and delivery.

This position is ideal for a self-starter excited about commercial analytics in the life sciences space and problem-solving in complex business contexts.

What You'll Do

• Explore and derive insights from high volumes of prescription data to ensure accuracy, completeness, reliability, relevance, and timeliness.
• Execute data querying, cleansing, and analysis; understand impacts of missing data and discrepancies.
• Create SOPs for data publishing; manage delivery operations.
• Communicate data quality issues to stakeholders and contribute to process improvements.
• Monitor data and investigate impacts on customers and broader data products, clearly communicating findings.
• Develop expertise on Veeva Compass data, contributing to documentation and validation.
• Conduct desk research to understand prescription and patient volume trends for brands and therapeutic areas.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Developers to ensure data quality and delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years analyzing prescription and medical claims data, including payer data.
• 5+ years with data analysis principles and data quality management.
• Experience with secondary data for commercial operations such as field planning, segmentation, or incentive compensation.
• SQL proficiency for querying and manipulating relational databases.
• Knowledge of billing codes like ICD, CPT/HCPCS, NDC.
• Detail-oriented, eager to learn, and creative in problem-solving.
• Experience presenting data quality analysis results to stakeholders via Excel and/or Tableau.
• Comfort working through complex problems and innovating.
• Experience with collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Bachelor's in STEM or quantitative field or equivalent technical experience.

Compensation

• Base pay: $80,000 - $130,000, depending on experience and location.
• Additional compensation may include bonuses and stock options.
