Job summary

Regions Bank in Hoover, Alabama seeks a Commercial Credit Services Group Manager to oversee underwriting for business banking and middle market requests. You will enforce policies, manage risk, and drive standardized credit processes across the team.

Key responsibilities include KPI management, cross-team collaboration with risk and audit, and talent development to sustain a high-performing workforce. This is an exempt, incentive-eligible role with a strong emphasis on prudent risk standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 15 years of banking/credit experience and 6 years of managerial experience.
• Completion of a major corporate credit training program or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience.
• MBA or related degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages KPIs for the underwriting team focusing on documentation quality and turnaround time.
• Liaisons with Credit Review, Risk Management, and Audit to address weaknesses in risk practices.
• Oversees hiring, development, and performance of regional underwriting and portfolio teams.
• Champions talent development and training to maintain a skilled workforce and succession pipeline.
• Creates and maintains relationships with credit officers, client coverage teams, leadership, and HR.
• Ensures new loans and renewals are underwritten to prudent risk standards and policies.
• Leads risk management initiatives for the underwriting team.
• Coaches on client selectivity, loan structuring, underwriting, servicing, and risk rating.
• Participates on committees and groups as needed.
• Leads credit product support and activity for the underwriting team.
