Job summary

Cardlytics in the United States is seeking a Commercial Legal Director to partner with our commercial, sales, and partnerships teams, drafting, negotiating, and closing technology, data, and partnership deals. You will bring a practical, business-minded approach to managing risk while enabling growth.

Reporting to the Chief Legal and Privacy Officer, you will work cross-functionally with Sales, Partnerships, Product, Engineering, Finance, and People to drive contract templates, process

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.
• 8+ years of combined experience practicing law with a focus on commercial transactions.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial and technology agreements, incl. SaaS and data.
• Deep understanding of privacy, data governance, and AI, incl. EU AI Act.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate strategy into practical legal advice.
• Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills with stakeholder impact

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS/platform agreements, publisher agreements, data and licensing agreements, marketing and media insertion orders, NDAs, and strategic partnership contracts.
• Gain deep technical understanding of data flows and technology to advise on innovative commercial deal frameworks.
• Advise internal stakeholders on commercial and contractual risks, providing clear, practical guidance that balances risk with business objectives.
• Partner with Sales, Partnerships, and Product teams to support deal structuring, product review and contract execution.
• Help maintain and improve contract templates and playbooks that drive consistency and speed across the business.
• Identify, research, analyze, and work with cross-functional teams to address potential risks related to a wide range of relevant legal topics (e.g. commercial, data security, and privacy laws).
• Contribute to Legal team process improvements and knowledge management as the team continues to scale.
