Job summary

Deltatre is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel on a US East Coast-based contract. You will own a cross‑jurisdictional caseload overseeing NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, licensing, and vendor agreements, negotiating with counterparties and external counsel.

You’ll advise on compliance, risk and commercial terms, support bids, and manage the contract lifecycle. Expect a lean, fast-paced team with international exposure and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 6+ years' PQE, including significant in-house experience.
• Strong track record negotiating complex commercial and technology contracts.
• Autonomous, able to judge risk without constant sign-off.
• Experience coordinating external counsel across jurisdictions.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills; communicate risk to non-lawyers.
• Familiarity with commercial law standards and contract reporting.
• English fluency, written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel.
• Experience in media, sports, broadcast, or technology sectors.
• GDPR familiarity and EU AI Act exposure in commercial contexts.
• Debt recovery / insolvency-adjacent risk / litigation management.
• Experience in lean legal team in fast-growing/PE-backed.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, SLAs, T&Cs, licensing, vendor agreements).
• Lead negotiations directly with counterparties across multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage contract lifecycle from term sheet to execution.
• Support private bid procedures; check compliance and manage risk.
• Advise business areas on legal questions in practical terms.
• Identify and advise on risk across the contract portfolio for non-legal stakeholders.
• Support debt recovery and dispute matters with external counsel.
• Review and negotiate settlement agreements in the company's interest.
• Prepare clear briefings for senior leadership on disputes or high-stakes negotiations.
• Keep business informed of regulatory developments (EU employment law, AI Act).
• Maintain organized contract records and status dates.
• Contribute to templates, playbooks and internal processes to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate external counsel across jurisdictions.
