Job summary

Adyen is seeking a Commercial Counsel based in New York to join the global Deal Desk within the Commercial Legal team. You will negotiate customer-facing contracts, draft comprehensive negotiation playbooks, and train commercial colleagues on how to sell our agreements.

You will advise across sales, account management, product, and regulatory teams, fostering scalable contracting processes and strong stakeholder relationships in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of legal experience, in house or at a law firm.
• Strong commercial contracting and/or other transactional experience.
• Ability to collaborate with counsel across jurisdictions (US, LATAM, EMEA, APAC).
• Team player with strong people skills and stakeholder management.
• Capacity to work autonomously and drive initiatives like a business.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice across commercial functions globally.
• Draft, review, and negotiate multi-jurisdictional commercial agreements for payment, data, and financial services products.
• Identify and mitigate legal and operational risks; improve processes for efficiency.
• Advise on early-stage disputes and complex legal interpretations.
• Drive contract automation to scale the team and contracting processes.
• Work cross-functionally with sales, product, and regulatory teams.
