Job summary

Runway is seeking a Commercial Counsel to lead negotiations with customers and strategic partners for our generative AI platform and APIs. You’ll build and scale templates, advise sales, and partner with privacy, partnerships, and engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a J.D., bar admission, 3+ years of tech transactions experience, and a passion for shaping the legal landscape of AI. Remote-friendly roles across the US are available.

Qualifications

• J.D. and good standing with at least one state bar.
• 3+ years negotiating complex technology transactions, including 1+ years with B2B SaaS contracts.
• Experience with data privacy, legal operations, strategic IP-heavy partnerships; B2C issues nice-to-have.
• Bias for action and a willingness to take ownership.
• Growth mindset and willingness to scale business processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations with Runway’s customers and strategic partners for B2B SaaS contracts, DPAs, and vendor agreements.
• Implement commercial processes, templates, playbooks, and automation to scale our legal function.
• Empower the sales team with tools and knowledge to close deals quickly.
• Dive into the technical aspects of Runway's generative AI products to inform legal advice.
• Monitor developments in the generative AI legal space and advise cross-functional teams.
