Job summary

Larson Maddox is seeking a licensed attorney in California to lead commercial contracting and risk management efforts. The role covers drafting and negotiating agreements across development, construction, and business operations, with exposure to real estate, energy, and governance matters.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience, an ABA-accredited J.D., and active CA Bar status or be able to register as in-house counsel.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school required.
• Minimum 5 years of legal experience with commercial contracting.
• Active California Bar membership (or ability to register as in-house counsel).
• Experience supporting development, construction, land use, energy, utilities, or commercial real estate matters.
• Strong communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts supporting site development, construction, and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Contracts

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts supporting site development, construction, and business operations.
• Manage a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, supply, technology, marketing, and confidentiality agreements.
• Maintain contract templates, playbooks, and tracking processes for key obligations and renewals.

• Advise internal stakeholders on legal and business risks, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Support a broad range of legal matters, including real estate, compliance, governance, privacy, and employment.
