Job summary

WillScot is seeking a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team. The role focuses on contacting past-due commercial accounts, negotiating payment plans, and driving delinquency reduction while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities include documenting interactions, resolving inquiries, and coordinating with sales and branch staff to secure timely payments. A college degree or equivalent and 5+ years in collections are required, with proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• College Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years prior collections required, preferably in a commercial environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with 35–40 keyboarding speed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High degree of professionalism and attention to detail.
• Keen listening skills and ability to persuade others.
• Ambitious, goal-oriented and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Place calls to and receive calls from past due commercial accounts to discuss payment arrangements.
• Establish acceptable payment arrangements and settlements while building relationships.
• Counsel customers to assist in finding funds to bring accounts current.
• Generate and respond to written correspondence in a professional, compliant manner.
• Respond to inquiries and maintain accurate documentation of conversations and arrangements.
• Meet collection objectives with professionalism and persuasiveness.
• Suggest next steps for unresponsive accounts and perform skip tracing when contact ends.
• Collaborate with sales, branches and team members to resolve accounts and locate unapplied cash.
