Job summary

Corporate Air Mechanical Services, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Commercial Chiller Service Technician. You’ll diagnose and repair large-scale chillers, cooling towers, RTUs, and BMS, leading complex diagnostics and providing expert service.

You’ll mentor junior techs, perform preventive maintenance for energy efficiency, and communicate with facility managers to quote upgrades. EPA Type II certs and VRF familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on commercial and/or industrial chiller experience.
• Advanced start-up, warranty, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across commercial chiller systems.
• Previous VRF experience is preferred.
• EPA Type II Certification required; NATE & factory training on major equipment brands preferred.
• Deep knowledge of electrical schematics, refrigerant handling, brazing/welding, and computerized chiller/HVAC software/controls.

Responsibilities

• diagnose large-tonnage systems, lead complex diagnostics, installations, and repairs of large-scale chillers, cooling towers, RTUs, and BMS.
• Advanced diagnostics & repair of cooling towers/pumps/motors and troubleshooting heavy-duty HVAC equipment.
• Leadership & mentorship: oversee junior technicians, train on-the-job, ensure safety standards.
• Preventive maintenance: manage central plant ops to maximize uptime and energy efficiency.
• Client communication: explain repairs, provide quotes, and recommend system upgrades.
• Represent CAMS with professionalism and urgency on every job.
