Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Senior Commander's Action Group (CAG) Analyst to support NAVSEA Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) strategic planning products. This individual will provide direct support to SUPSHIP's mission of getting ships to sea and keeping them ready.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Manager and SUPSHIP
  • Assist in developing long‑term goals in support of SUPSHIP's strategic communications plan, charter, and management objectives. Draft regular execution plans in support of the SUPSHIP communication plan. Provide briefings, presentation materials, analytical reports, concept papers, and critical issue papers for both internal and external use.
  • Support strategic communications planning and message development. Prepare metrics to measure effectiveness of communications plan initiatives. Draft communications policy guidelines, processes, and standard procedures in accordance with NAVSEA and SUPSHIP technical oversight and direction.
  • Align communications plan with core themes from the Secretary of the Navy and Chief of Naval Operations consistent with CHINFO and NAVSEA guidance.
  • Focus the communications plan to inform, educate, and build support and consensus among key internal and external SUPSHIP stakeholders.
  • Assist with managing SUPSHIP strategic and organizational planning and execution process. Assess SUPSHIP plans and policies to ensure consistency with strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate with SUPSHIP leadership in recommending and establishing strategic goals and objectives. Monitor execution of tactical goals in support of strategic objectives.
  • Develop training material and provide training for career and leadership development. Content shall include but is not limited to purpose, advocacy, collaboration, influence, negotiation, growth, innovation, strategy, and agility.
  • Manage, modify, and lead recurring career and leadership courses of varying lengths for both supervisory and non-supervisory employees.

This position requires 5 days a week on site at the Washington Navy Yard.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate possesses expertise and experience in NAVSEA, specifically program/project management supporting NAVSEA program offices. The ideal candidate will be familiar with and have experience with the following technical knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD program management, technical, or business management.
  • Experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel is required along with supervisory experience.
  • Experience with drafting/coordinating/presenting papers, briefings, and presentations at the Flag Officer/SES level.

Education and Experience: The following are desirable levels of experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in any technical or managerial discipline required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Strategic planning experience in DoD preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in program management, or business management.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Navy is preferred.

Clearance Requirements: Must possess a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a government‑issued CAC. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
Compensation

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000.00 to $145,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies' total compensation package for employees.
