Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA seeks a Principal Combustion Devices Engineer to lead design and analysis of combustion components for the Archimedes engine. You will own design, analysis, qualification plans, and flight support, partnering with turbomachinery and engine systems teams to enable rapid iteration and reliable re-flights.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering, 12+ years’ experience, and deep knowledge of combustion, fluids, heat transfer, and structural mechanics.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
• 12+ years of combustion device design experience
• In-depth knowledge of combustion and fluid dynamics, heat transfer and structural mechanics
• Fundamental understanding of design principles and manufacturing methods

Responsabilidades

• Design, analyze, and perform trades studies to achieve programmatic targets.
• Define requirements, test and flight qualification plans.
• Collaborate with interface owners to create a high-end, iterated product.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to design easily manufacturable, cost-effective parts.
• Interpret data with test and launch teams to enable a high cadence of tests and re-flights
