Singer Vehicle Design in Torrance, CA seeks a Senior Collision Repair Technician to restore and reimagine Porsche 911s with exacting standards. The role is onsite with a Monday–Friday 5am–1:30pm schedule and potential OT, offering hands-on frame, welding, and panel work on high-end chassis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years experience in automotive chassis restoration/collision.
• MIG welding proficiency (GMAW).
• I-CAR or ASE certifications.
• Experience with hand and pneumatic tools and body shop equipment.
• Celette framing systems knowledge is a bonus.
• GTAW (TIG) welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and stage production builds on Celette frame benches.
• Assess chassis damage with Production Supervisor to align repair scope.
• Complete repairs including light to heavy work and panel replacement.
• Report additional repairs/parts needed to restore factory specs.
• Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality.
• Assist in special projects and fixture setup.

• Weld, repair, and restore high-end automotive chassis in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and stage upcoming production builds on Celette frame benches
• Assess damage of each chassis with Production Supervisor to ensure alignment on scope of repair work
• Be responsible for completing the work associated with each vehicle repair including light to heavy repairs, replacing panels via welding or bolt-on/off, structural and frame repair
• Report any additional repairs/ parts necessary to complete restoration of chassis to factory specifications
• Inspect both raw materials and finished products for conformance to quality specifications
• Assist in special projects and set up of fixtures as required

Who We’re Looking For:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum seven (7) years of related work experience in an automotive (chassis/ parts), restoration, manufacturing and or collision environment
• Proficient competency in GMAW (MIG) welding process
• I-CAR or ASE certifications in related fields
• Experience with basic hand and pneumatic tools such as body hammers, dollies, grinders, sanders, etc.
• Experience with specialty autobody tools such as spot welders, dent pullers, stud welders, etc.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication methods such as cutting, shaping, forming, shearing, etc.
• Knowledge of filler material and required gas applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials
• Knowledge and ability to use a frame machine to do frame and body pulls
• Familiarity of conventional and precision measuring instruments
• Ability to properly fit/align parts and panels according to design specifications
• General automotive knowledge and knowledge of fabrication, machining/ welding equipment setup, process, and maintenance
• Bonus points for certification or training in Celette framing systems
• Bonus points for competency with GTAW (TIG) welding processe

Location & Schedule:

This position is onsite in Torrance, CA and the schedule is Monday – Friday 5am – 1:30pm with the potential for over time.

The starting pay range for this position is between $39 - 44 per hour plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
