Job summary

ADP is seeking a Senior Collections Specialist in Albany, NY to lead and support the Backline Collections team. The role focuses on supervising, coordinating with clients and insurers, and improving collection outcomes for defi’s auto clients.

You will assist with various functions including bankruptcy and repossessions, while maintaining strong communication with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Understand the client's requirements, processes, and methodologies.
• Back-up for managerial duties when needed (performance management, direction, subject matter expert)
• Work with Insurance Companies to monitor and close insurance claims
• Oversee impound and repossession processes
• Act as a liaison to provide communication between courts, bankruptcy attorneys, and clients
• Assist fellow collection team members in other functions assigned by management
• Perform other duties as required.

Senior Collections Specialist

About the Role:

As a Senior team member on our Backline Collections team, you will perform in a leadership role, supporting hiring manager(s), clients, customers, vendors, and other internal contacts. In addition, you will be responsible for supporting various functions, including bankruptcy, repossessions, and insurance for defi’s auto clients. You will be key in helping the company achieve desired financial outcomes as defined by client objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to

• Understanding the client's requirements, processes, and methodologies.
• Be a back-up for managerial duties when needed (performance management, direction, subject matter expert)
• Working with Insurance Companies to monitor and close insurance claims
• Impound and repossession processes
• Act as a liaison to provide communication between the courts, bankruptcy attorneys, and our clients
• Assist fellow collection team members in all other functions assigned by management
• Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Current performance and attendance must be in good standing
• Prior experience in consumer finance and/or collection, or recovery
• Minimum one (1) year team lead, supervisory/ management, or related experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable working with numbers
• Intermediate proficiency with Windows based software programs (i.e., MS Word, Excel)
• Solid analytical and multi-tasking skills that result in solid decision-making skills and time management
• Easily manage through change

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior repossession, bankruptcy or insurance knowledge is helpful
