Senior Cogito Developer

UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. This Senior Cogito Developer will work within the Analytics group, providing data and analytic solutions across UW Medicine, specifically for finance, operations, institutional quality improvement, research and clinical analytics.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Identify business and technical impacts of user requirements and articulate to all constituents
• Assume responsibility for the quality and delivery of technology business solutions
• Create ad hoc and ongoing reports and other data outputs to support the clinical and business needs for the enterprise

The Epic Cogito team provides data and analytic solutions across UW Medicine, specifically for finance, operations, institutional quality improvement, research and clinical analytics. This position focuses on the Epic Clinical domain and works closely with ITS customers, a team of developers, Clinical Informatics, and relevant Epic Applications teams (Inpatient, Ambulatory, Perioperative) to provide analysis, recommend appropriate solutions, and develop those solutions using best reporting tools.

Areas Of Responsibility

• Collaborate with Analytics leadership to help set direction, standards, and process for a team of Cogito and BI Developers
• Work with Analytics Business Analysts, Clinical Informatics, application teams, and customers to gather, analyze, and document reporting requirements
• Design, code, test, and maintain reporting and analytics objects, utilizing industry best practices
• Utilize Epic’s Cogito suite of tools to deliver data solutions
• Provide production support and respond to help desk tickets related to the BI development tool set and Epic Cogito suite
• Mentor and provide guidance, direction, and support to other developers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Mathematics, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of experience/education
• Currently holds at least 2 current Epic certifications OR has obtained Epic proficiency and has consistently demonstrated technical competencies for 3+ years in a relevant functional/business area
• Certification in Epic Cogito Fundamentals is required
• Certifications or experience with patient access applications

4+ Years of Experience Must Include

• 4+ years’ recent healthcare or IT experience
• 3+ years’ experience with BI reporting tools3+ years’ experience with Epic Cogito reporting tools (SlicerDicer, SQL Metrics, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards)
• Strong applied experience with Epic Clarity Data Model and Reporting for medium to large scale projects
• Strong applied experience working through the complete report development lifecycle for medium to large scale projects
• Complete and demonstrable understanding of BI reporting best practices, including requirements gathering
• High level of awareness of current and future BI technologies

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $120,000.00 per year Pay Range Maximum: $146,808.00 per year
