Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Senior Manager of Coding IP/OP to lead inpatient and outpatient coding and reimbursement practices for BMC South and Brighton. You will supervise coding staff and develop standardized guidelines to ensure accurate DRG/APC assignments under Official Coding Rules and Coding Clinic guidance.

This role provides operational leadership for coding education, coordinates RAC/external audits, resolves complex denials, and represents the department in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Minimum five years of acute care hospital coding experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, and at least three years in healthcare management; or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversees inpatient and outpatient coding and reimbursement practices across BMC South and Brighton; directs coding staff.
• Develops and maintains standardized coding guidelines; integrates Official Coding Guidelines and Coding Clinic updates.
• Reviews complex billing edits and reports to support accurate DRG/APC assignments and corrections.
