Job summary

The City of Sacramento’s Community Development Department seeks a Senior Code Enforcement Officer to lead field efforts addressing vehicle-related violations, blight, and other enforcement concerns throughout the City. The role focuses on investigation and abatement of abandoned or inoperable vehicles and encampments, coordinating with other City departments and service providers as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience enforcing zoning, nuisance, and related codes.
• Experience enforcing environmental health codes related to pest infestation, smoke, and noise.
• State certification as Public Health Vector Control Technician (Limited).

Responsibilities

• Review subordinate work in inspection and enforcement of City codes.
• Direct and participate in nuisance abatement and environmental health programs.
• Plan, schedule, and assign work to staff.
