Job summary

BCforward is seeking a CockroachDB Database Engineer to design, build, and operationalize CockroachDB as an enterprise DBaaS on Linux. The role emphasizes secure, automated, highly available distributed databases and collaboration with global clients.

The candidate will implement self-service provisioning, automation frameworks, and robust backup/DR strategies while improving platform reliability, performance, and developer experience. Hybrid onsite schedule applies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise database engineering experience.
• Hands-on CockroachDB architecture and administration.
• Experience with multi-region deployments and high availability.
• Automation and IaC using Ansible and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Develop standards, architectures, and best practices.
• Build automation for scalable deployments using IaC and scripting.
• Design self-service provisioning for application teams.
• Ensure high availability, performance tuning, monitoring, failover, and DR.
• Define security, RBAC, encryption, and governance controls.
• Serve as SME for CockroachDB issues and drive reliability improvements.
• Improve platform reliability and developer experience.
