UNICOM Technologies Inc is seeking a Senior COBOL Developer / Technical Lead to design, develop, and support COBOL applications using Micro Focus and Visual COBOL in a Windows client-server environment. The role emphasizes technical leadership, production support, and Oracle SQL expertise.

The position is onsite in Blythewood, SC with potential hybrid work after training. Candidates should reside near South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia and be ready to work from the Blythewood facility

Senior COBOL Developer / Technical Lead - Micro Focus / Visual COBOL

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina

Duration: 12 Months - Possible Extension

Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 8:0 AM-5:00 PM

Work Arrangement: Onsite initially; hybrid may be available after training

We are seeking a Senior COBOL Developer / Technical Lead with strong hands‑on experience developing and supporting COBOL applications using Micro Focus and/or Visual COBOL.

This position supports complex Windows‑based client‑server applications and requires strong COBOL development, Oracle SQL, production support, troubleshooting, and technical leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

Important

This is NOT a traditional IBM mainframe COBOL-only position. Candidates must demonstrate meaningful hands‑on experience with Micro Focus and/or Visual COBOL and Windows‑based client‑server applications.

Candidates must currently reside in South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia and be able to work onsite in Blythewood, SC during the initial training period. After training, hybrid work may be available based on hiring‑manager approval.
