Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating and lining inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep, application, and cure, perform adhesion and holiday testing, and write formal inspection reports for owners and engineers.

The role includes supervising Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and resolving nonconformances with applicators.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 2 certification is required and current.
• 2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2 is required.
• Familiarity with SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating specification and manufacturer data.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports.
• Represent the inspection program to the owner and applicator.
