Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a seasoned Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coatings and linings on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep, application and cure, and sign off at each stage.

Expect adhesion, holiday, and cure testing with clear reporting. You will supervise Level 1 inspectors on large projects, write inspection and nonconformance reports, and coordinate with owners and applicators to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• AMPP/NACE CIP Level 2 certification required and current.
• 2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2.
• Experience with SSPC and NACE surface prep standards and common coating systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating spec and data.
• Verify surface preparation, application and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; liaison with owner and applicator.
