Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector III to lead protective coatings on projects, review coating specs and inspection plans, investigate failures, audit applicators, and supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors. The ideal candidate holds AMPP/NACE CIP Level 3 (current) with 8+ years in coatings inspection including supervision; PCS preferred.

Experience across industrial, water/wastewater, marine, and infrastructure coatings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of coatings inspection experience including supervisory roles
• Certification in AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 current
• Experience with coating failure investigations
• Strong ability to write coating specifications and findings that withstand review

Responsibilities

• Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements
• Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, laboratory coordination, and written findings
• Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors
• Supervise and develop Level 1 and 2 inspectors; calibrate acceptance standards
• Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection, service life, and maintenance planning
