Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector III to lead protective coatings projects, review specs, coordinate inspections, and advise owners on system selection and maintenance. You supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors and drive quality across industrial, water/wastewater, marine, and infrastructure coatings.

The ideal candidate holds AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3, brings 8+ years of coatings inspection including supervision, and has failure-investigation experience.

Qualifications

AMPP CIP Level 3 certification is required and current.
8+ years of coatings inspection experience including supervision.
Failure investigation experience and PCS preferred.
Broad experience across industrial, water/wastewater, marine, and infrastructure coatings.

Responsibilities

Review and write coating specifications, inspection plans, and quality requirements.
Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, lab coordination, and written findings.
Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
Supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors; calibrate acceptance standards.
Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection, service life, and maintenance planning.
