Job summary
Construction Material Testing seeks a senior Coatings Inspector III to lead industrial coating projects, review specifications, and oversee inspection plans. You will investigate failures, audit applicators and suppliers, and supervise Level 1–2 inspectors while advising owners and engineers on coating systems and lifecycle planning.
The role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3 certification, 8+ years in coatings inspection including supervision, and may prefer PCS credentials.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of coatings inspection experience including supervision
- Experience writing and reviewing coating specifications and inspection/test plans
- Audits of applicators and coating suppliers are expected
Responsibilities
- Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements
- Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, laboratory coordination, and written findings
- Audit applicators and coating suppliers and qualify inspection subcontractors
- Supervise and develop Level 1 and 2 inspectors across projects and calibrate acceptance standards
- Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection, service life, and maintenance planning
