Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a senior Coatings Inspector III to lead protective coatings programs across projects. You will review specifications, supervise inspectors, and advise owners on coating system choices and quality requirements.

The role emphasizes field investigations, compliance with SSPC/NACE/AMPP standards, and development of robust acceptance criteria. Travel to project sites and coordination with engineers are expected as part of this senior technical position.

Qualifications

8+ years of coatings inspection experience.
Experience supervising Level 1 and 2 inspectors.
Coating failure investigation experience.
Writes specifications and findings that hold up with owners, applicators, and manufacturers.

Responsibilities

Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, laboratory coordination, and the written finding.
Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
Supervise and develop Level 1 and 2 inspectors across projects; calibrate their acceptance standards.
Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection, service life, and maintenance planning.
