Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector III to act as the senior authority on protective coatings across projects. You will review and write coating specifications and inspection plans, investigate failures, audit applicators and coating suppliers, and advise owners and engineers on coating system selection.

The role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 3, 8+ years of coatings inspection experience including supervision, and willingness to travel with per diem.

Qualifications

AMPP CIP Level 3 certification is required and current.
8+ years of coatings inspection experience including supervision.
Broad experience across industrial, water/wastewater, marine, and infrastructure coatings.

Responsibilities

Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, laboratory coordination, and the written finding.
Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
Supervise and develop Level 1 and 2 inspectors; calibrate acceptance standards.
Advise owners and engineers on coating systems, service life, and maintenance planning.
