Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a senior Coatings Inspector III to lead coatings quality across projects, write specifications and inspection plans, and guide coating choices for owners and engineers. Requires AMPP CIP Level 3 and 8+ years of supervisory experience.

You will evaluate failures, audit applicators and suppliers, and mentor Level 1–2 inspectors while aligning with SSPC/NACE and AMPP standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of coatings inspection including supervision.
• AMPP CIP Level 3 certification, current.
• Coating failure investigation experience.
• AMPP Protective Coatings Specialist (PCS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements.
• Investigate coating failures with field evaluation, sampling, and coordination with labs.
• Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors.
• Supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors; calibrate acceptance standards.
• Advise owners and engineers on coating systems, service life, and maintenance planning.
