Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector III to lead coatings inspection across projects, writing specifications and testing plans, and investigating failures. You will audit applicators and suppliers and mentor Level 1 and 2 inspectors on acceptance standards.

Required CIP Level 3 with strong failure analysis background; PCS credential is a plus. You will advise owners and engineers on coating systems, expected service life, and maintenance planning.

Qualifications

8+ years of coatings inspection experience including supervision
AMPP CIP Level 3 certification current
Coating failure investigation experience
Broad coatings experience across industrial, water/wastewater, marine, and infrastructure
Writes specifications and findings for owners, applicators, manufacturers

Responsibilities

Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans
Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, labs, findings
Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors
Supervise Level 1 and 2 inspectors across projects; calibrate acceptance standards
Advise owners and engineers on coating systems, service life, and maintenance
