Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector III, the senior authority on protective coatings across projects, responsible for reviewing and writing coating specs and inspection plans, investigating failures, and advising owners and engineers on system selection and quality requirements.

The role includes supervising Level 1 and 2 inspectors, auditing applicators, and coordinating field and lab work, with travel as needed on Gulf Coast projects and related sites; pay ranges from $55

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 3 certification (current)
• 8+ years of coatings inspection including supervision
• Coating failure investigation experience
• Broad experience across industrial, water/wastewater, marine, and infrastructure coatings

Responsibilities

• Review and write coating specifications, inspection and test plans, and quality requirements
• Investigate coating failures: field evaluation, sampling, laboratory coordination, and written finding
• Audit applicators and coating suppliers; qualify inspection subcontractors
• Supervise and develop Level 1 and 2 inspectors; calibrate acceptance standards
• Advise owners and engineers on coating system selection, service life, and maintenance planning
