Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a qualified Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection activities on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify prep and coating application, and perform adhesion, holiday, and cure tests with sign-off authority.

The role includes supervising Level 1 inspectors, writing reports, and resolving nonconformances with applicators, ensuring compliance with AMPP/NACE standards.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification, current, with 2+ years inspecting under it.
• Command of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.
• Able to stop an application that is out of specification and document it so it closes.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating specification and the manufacturer's data.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs; write inspection and nonconformance reports.
