Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Sr. Medical Technologist to oversee testing within a laboratory section, perform advanced and specialized analyses, and contribute to research and protocol development.

The role involves guiding technical staff and educating students and residents while ensuring high-quality patient care. Reporting to the Pathology Manager, the incumbent will work in a laboratory setting at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI, with day shifts and rotating weekends as described

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent education per CLIA standards.
National certification (or eligible) in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology.
Advanced studies are desirable but not required depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Prepares and determines suitability of solutions, reagents and stains following procedures.
Performs advanced, specialized, and innovative tests and analyses.
Participates in research projects and implements new laboratory procedures.
Acts as a technical resource and guides staff in complex testing procedures.
Provides clinical education to students and residents in the area of specialization.
May perform duties of a Pathology Technologist when required.
