D&N Bending Corporation in Romeo, MI is seeking an experienced CNC Tube Bending Operator / Setup Technician. The role focuses on hands-on setup, process development, and troubleshooting for prototype and production bending.

The candidate will perform machine changeovers, adjust tooling, load CNC programs, and validate first articles while maintaining tight tolerances for automotive OEM and Tier 1 suppliers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC tube bending experience, with setup preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T specifications.
• Hands-on technician capable of machine setup, process development, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform full machine setup and changeovers on CNC tube bending equipment.
• Set and adjust tooling including mandrels, wiper dies, clamp dies, and pressure dies.
• Load, edit, and optimize CNC bending programs.
• Interpret blueprints, prints, and GD&T requirements to ensure part accuracy.
• Conduct first piece validation and make adjustments (springback, offsets).
• Troubleshoot bending defects such as wrinkling, flattening, and distortion.
• Work with engineering to develop and refine bending processes.
• Use fixtures, gauges, and measuring equipment to verify quality.
• Maintain production efficiency while meeting tight tolerances.
• Support continuous improvement related to cycle time and scrap reduction.
