Job summary

Gordon Aluminum Industries INC is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Technician - CNC to join our manufacturing team on the shop floor. This role requires hands-on CNC expertise beyond routine operation, including complex setups, troubleshooting, and process optimization to consistently produce quality parts.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, edit G-code, develop setup sheets, and train operators while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Production to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive, hands-on CNC machining experience.
• Strong CNC mill setup, operation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience documenting processes and developing setup sheets.
• Ability to train and coach CNC operators and setup personnel.
• Safety-focused with shop-floor discipline.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform complex CNC mill setups with tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
• Troubleshoot medium- to high-complexity CNC machining issues.
• Analyze dimensional, quality, and machining problems and determine root causes.
• Make CNC program and G-code edits to support production.
• Evaluate and optimize tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining sequences.
• Run and verify first-piece production to ensure blueprint conformance.
• Develop and improve setup sheets and standardized processes.
• Train CNC operators on established processes and best practices.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement to increase throughput and reliability.
