Job summary

Precision Fuzing and Sensors in Middletown, CT is actively hiring a General Machinist IV with experience reading blueprints, setting up and operating CNC Swiss Screw machines, and inspecting parts during production. The role reports to the Group Leader or Supervisor with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC Swiss Screw Machining.
• Reading and interpreting GD&T drawings and blueprints.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
• Ability to follow safety rules and shop practices.
• Understanding of tolerance stack-ups and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Work under the Group Leader or Supervisor with minimal supervision and ensure tolerances and finish specs.
• Use blueprints, schematics, and written/verbal directions to achieve required contours and finishes.
• Modify machining sequences to improve efficiency.
• Set up CNC Swiss Screw equipment and operate CNC and manual machines.
• Edit and verify machine programs.
• Determine tooling and fixture requirements, and select feeds and speeds.
• Maintain four-decimal tolerances consistently.
• Perform deburring and general maintenance; keep the work area safe and orderly.
• Inspect own work with gauges to maintain quality and report issues.
