Job summary

Global Packaging Systems (GPS) - A Division on PMD is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / Set-Up to program, set up, and prove out CNC milling operations for high‑quality parts. The role uses Mastercam CAM software, solid models, and engineering drawings to create efficient processes from concept through production.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of CNC machining experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to mentor others while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Production

Qualifications

• 6+ years CNC machining experience, including programming and setup
• Experience programming CNC mills using Mastercam CAM software
• Knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, vises, fixtures and workholding
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and 3D solid models
• Ability to develop, run, and edit CNC programs
• Experience establishing tool lengths, coordinates and fixture offsets
• Ability to develop or modify workholding devices and fixtures
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, speeds and setup requirements
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and models to determine machining processes
• Develop CNC programs using Mastercam and solid models
• Select tooling, fixtures and workholding for each job
• Set up tooling and fixtures in CNC mills
• Establish tool lengths and coordinates
• Prove out programs and produce first-piece parts
• Run and edit CNC programs and adjust machine controls
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues
• Develop setup sheets with tooling and process details
• Assist in process improvement and cross-training of operators
• Maintain clean, safe and organized work area
