Job summary

NextPlay Jobs partners with a precision manufacturing client to hire experienced CNC Programmers/Machinists for both CNC Milling and Swiss departments. You will own programming, set‑ups, troubleshooting, process improvement, and lead new job launches on tight‑tolerance components.

Role focuses on multi‑axis programming (3–5 axis), tooling, feeds and speeds, and setup documentation. Strong GD&T and CAM skills (Mastercam/GibbsCAM) are required, with experience on Haas, Mazak, FANUC, Citizen,

Qualifications

7–10+ years of CNC programming and machining experience preferred.
Strong CNC programming, setup, and machining experience.
Experience with CNC milling, Swiss machining, or both.
Multi-axis machining experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming principles, tooling, feeds and speeds, and machining processes.
Experience machining complex, tight‑tolerance components.
Strong knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
CAM programming experience; Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or comparable software preferred.
Experience with equipment or controls such as Haas, Mazak, FANUC, Citizen, Tsugami, Star, or comparable platforms is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring other machinists preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
Medical device, aerospace, or other high‑precision manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs for complex, tight‑tolerance components.
Program, set up, and operate CNC milling and/or Swiss machining equipment.
Support multi-axis machining processes, including 3-, 4-, and 5-axis applications.
Develop tooling, feeds and speeds, workholding, and machining strategies.
Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and manufacturing documentation.
Support new job launches from programming and setup through production.
Troubleshoot programming, setup, tooling, and machining issues on the production floor.
Make program and process adjustments to improve quality, cycle time, tool life, and efficiency.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
Provide technical guidance and support to other machinists.
Assist with training and developing team members on programming, setups, tooling, and machining processes.
Help prioritize and resolve production issuesMaintain accurate CNC programs and manufacturing records.
Follow all company quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
