Job summary

IMI in Farmington, CT is seeking a Senior CNC Programmer to develop and optimize CNC machining programs for turning and milling, create fixtures and tooling, and select machines for new jobs. The role also involves identifying opportunities to deploy new CNC centers when needed.

You will mentor new hires, work on-site Monday through Friday, and contribute to continuous improvement with strong GD&T and tool-path design skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred, or 5+ years CNC programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Generate CNC machining programs for turning and milling of plastic and metal components.
• Complete blueprint reviews for manufacturability of new opportunities.
• Update existing CNC programs with drawing changes.
• Select appropriate tooling for each operation and design custom tooling.
• Create setup/inspection sheets for machining applications.
• Identify machine centers for new jobs and specify new CNC Machining Centers as needed.
• File management of NC programs for production and saving to correct file locations.
• Mentor and train new CNC programmers.
