Job summary

Belcan is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support the launch of a new horizontal machining center at an on-site Orchard Park, NY facility. The role centers on developing machining processes from concept to production, including fixture detailing, tooling strategy, and NC programming.

You will collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers and machinists to prove out programs and optimize processes for multiple upcoming projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision machining environment.
• Proficiency using Mastercam or similar CAM software.
• Experience programming horizontal machining centers.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and workholding design.
• Ability to develop CNC programs from part models, prints, or process concepts.
• Experience supporting program prove-out and troubleshooting machining operations.
• Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs using Mastercam for horizontal machining centers.
• Convert existing fixture, tooling, and programming concepts into detailed manufacturing processes.
• Design and detail workholding fixtures and coordinate fixture builds.
• Develop tooling strategies and create complete tooling packages for machining operations.
• Support the launch and ramp-up of a newly installed horizontal machining center.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to prove out programs and optimize machining processes.
• Troubleshoot programming, setup, and tooling challenges during initial part runs.
• Prepare setup documentation and machining instructions for production.
• Support multiple upcoming machining projects as new parts are introduced into the machining.
