Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support precision manufacturing of high-tolerance components in Fairfield, CA. You will develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis centers, interpret drawings, select tooling, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams.

Responsibilities include creating machining strategies, validating programs, supporting first article inspections, and driving process improvements to reduce cycle times and costs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years CNC programming in precision manufacturing.
• Advanced Mastercam programming required.
• Strong experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining.
• Proficient reading of blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T.
• Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and process optimization.
• Experience with prototype development and first article production.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam.
• Create machining strategies for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis centers.
• Program and support horizontal machining centers with pallet systems.
• Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Select tooling, fixtures, workholding, feeds, and speeds.
• Simulate and validate programs to prevent collisions.
• Support first article inspections and process validations.
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to improve cycle times and quality.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality.
• Create/setup sheets, tooling docs, and machining standards.
• Drive initiatives to reduce setup times, scrap, and downtime.
